About the Wool-Overs Product
Nylon is used in the manufacturing of Wool-Overs to ensure issues regarding contamination are not compromised.
Nylon as a fibre, is not very sturdy in outdoor conditions, hence the fabric is treated prior to manufacturing with a UV stabilizing substance to prolong it’s strength & therefore life.
Returns to producers from the benefits of added yield and lower VM levels more than pay for the use of coats, after one shearing.
Wool-Overs have been developed by wool producers , for wool producers, and quality has always been an issue in regards to the production of the coats. The thread and elastic used has been the best possible available, and afforded in the process.
The wool producer must realize that on average approximately 5% of the coats may‘fail’. Sometimes this is an issue where the factory may have missed a stitch, sometimes it is because certain sheep will spend their entire days trying to destroy these coats & free themselves from them!!
It is advisable to check coats after taking them off & make any repairs at this time. We recommend washing of coats that need repairing.
While all care has been taken to bring you a product of high quality, the use of Wool-Overs to improve the quality of the wool produced, must be undertaken at the risk of the buyer.

Future Product Development
We are continually researching and aiming to improve our product. This is why you may see different fabrics & closure mechanisms available.
We are very conscious of ‘pricepoint’ issues- we could develop a ‘bullet-proof’ coat tomorrow- but at a price that would mean it would take 2-3 yrs to pay off each coat, instead of easily in the first cut!
We are working closely with AWI to develop a ‘standard’ for sheep coats- similar to standards for things such as Woolpacks.
This will involve minimum standards for fabric, design, thread, elastics etc.
We have no doubt that the future will see a ‘nylon’ only policy in regards to this. Presently we make the coats from nylon to head off any future concerns regarding contamination.
