Handling & Care

To Prolong the life of your new "Wool-Overs", please take the following precautions:

1. Remove all sharp objects [bolts, wire, nails, tin etc] from sheep yards and handling facilities.
2. Avoid moving sheep through narrow gateways.
3. Avoid forcing sheep through gateways.
4. Handle sheep in a quiet manner.
5. Avoid excessive use of dogs.
6. Do not catch sheep by grabbing the wool-overs.
7. Wash ‘wool-overs ‘ between use, ONLY if they are excessively dusty, ensuring Velcro/Buckles are fully closed.

Fitting of "Wool-Overs"

1. It is important to match the correct size of the ‘wool-over’ to the sheep.
2. Shake out ‘wool-over’ to remove any loose threads.
3. On a shorn sheep , the ‘wool-over’ should extend 10cm past the tail.
4. Place ‘wool-over’ on head first; pull down brisket; pull down over butt of tail; lift hind legs 1 at a time and insert into leg straps; adjust Velcro/Buckles for snug fit.
5. If using on shorn or short woolled sheep, ensure front Buckle is fully tightened. Loosen these tabs as necessary to prevent rubbing of wool.
6. It is advisable to use a snug SHORT-necked coat on bare shorn sheep.
7. It is strongly recomended to use a raised, single file race to fit coats. 8. It is advisable to let shearing cuts heal prior to fitting of ‘wool-overs’.
9. Remove ‘wool-overs’ starting at hind legs.
